HAGIS is a member of an international network of longitudinal ageing studies. All these studies endeavour to maintain a high degree of comparability between their data and data collection processes, with those of their sister surveys. This high degree of comparability means that data can readily be harmonized across studies, allowing for richer cross-country comparisons.
UK Longitudinal Studies of Ageing
The way HAGIS is set up and administered is well aligned with the other longitudinal studies in the rest of the British Isles:
HAGIS is part of The Gateway to Global Ageing Data initiative, a global platform for data sharing and collaboration of all longitudinal ageing studies across the world. The platform allows for easy comparisons to be made between survey questions and variables, and harmonized versions of each country’s data are readily available here for cross-country analysis.
